DURING the last full council meeting I congratulated the library service on the fine results of a survey which had been conducted, and asked the chairman to investigate the possibility of increasing opening hours of Bury's libraries in general, giving particular mention to Ramsbottom.
Can I point out that this does not mean that I feel that Ramsbottom should mirror the opening pattern of any other library. But as a regular user of Ramsbottom library, in common with many others I would like to see the opening hours increased, especially in the evenings, as well as an increase in its book stock.
I congratulate Ramsbottom library staff for their part in the survey. I find their helpful and positive attitude makes visiting the library a real pleasure.
COUNCILLOR DOROTHY GUNTHER,
Ramsbottom.
