I, LIKE many others, got caught in the recent chaos caused by the road works at Junction 2 (Northbound) of the M66 and Rochdale Road.
What is most annoying is that much of the inconvenience could have been avoided if a sign had been positioned prior to Junction 3 (Pilsworth industrial estate), advising Bury traffic to leave at that junction, rather than have to travel all the way to Ramsbottom and back. It is astonishing to think that two GMP traffic inspectors couldn't arrange it.
When I raised the matter with the police I was told that notice of the junction closure was published in the national press and announced on both local and national radio.
In future, when parking, perhaps we shouldn't bother to check for yellow lines, but should instead check in the newspaper to see if parking is allowed!
