LIFE is all about making choices - and Preston schoolboy Andrew Lonergan certainly has a tough one to make before the proudest day of his life.

The 15-year-old North End trainee, pictured, can't wait to play in the forthcoming England v Ireland schoolboy international at Deepdale next week.

The only stumbling block is he isn't sure which team he will represent.

Dual-nationality Andrew has already played for Ireland's under-16s squad and club officials are expecting him to receive his call-up papers for this game - even though England have already said they want him in the nets on the night.

Andrew will probably be wearing three lions on his shirt during this game, but he soon has to make his mind up whether he wants to play for England or the Emerald Isle in future.

Andrew, who attends St Cecilia's High School, said: "I played for Ireland last year against Northern Ireland and I enjoyed that.

"I have also played for England last November, and I enjoyed that as well."

The Ribbleton teenager has to decide which country he wants to pursue an international career with, later on this year.

But for now Andrew is concentrating on next week's game, which will be broadcast live on Sky Sports.

He added: "I am really looking forward to this game because it will be on my home ground which will make it something special.

"All my friends are coming down to watch the game and I can't wait to play." Andrew, who still attracts the attention of Premiership scouts, despite snubbing them in favour of Deepdale, will have to decide which country he wants to pursue an international career with at the end of the season.

He added: "To be honest, I don't which team I well pick to play with yet. It is too early to say and I will have to think long and hard about it."
