DARWEN Amateur Swimming Club have started off the season in grand style under the expert leadership of their new coach Lee Stringfellow.
They had 100 per cent success in the first two matches of the Friendly League beating both Skipton and Burnley with a substantial margin, all the swimmers put up outstanding performances many achieving personal bests.
They then travelled to Walkden to take part in their first-ever Bolton and District Mini League. They faced stiff opposition from two much bigger clubs, Aquabears of Rochdale, and Worsley.
Undaunted by this the Darwen swimmers gave their best and again many children achieved personal bests.
The Darwen club has strong leadership and a dedicated team of coaches and assistants.
They have recently acquired extra pool time and are looking ahead to an exciting season. Anyone interested in finding out more about the club can ring 01254 702454.
