HAVING just read about Cllr John Lea's proposal for boundary signs, surely the sign should show cheap and cheerful supermarkets, a drunk or drug addict, a view of wasteland where industry once was, and a motor car or bus. This would be a more accurate view of Leigh than his romantic view of the past.
Cllr Lea and his fellow councillors should concentrate their efforts on bringing investment and facilities to this town.
Wigan boasts a superb new all seater football/rugby stadium, the Robin Park athletics arena, multi-fitness suites, tennis, gyms, multiplex cinema, swimming pool and last but not least an A&E department at Wigan Hospital.
The people of Leigh have none of the above. This is why a car or bus should be included in the boundary signs.
