NON-SWIMMERS are being given the chance to dip their toe in the water and gain confidence in special aqua mobility classes.
The classes have been successfully run at the William Thompson Centre, Burnley, and fitness development officer Linda Searle is hoping the new sessions at Padiham Pool will also prove popular.
She said: "Aqua Mobility is ideal for non-swimmers and a useful way of gaining confidence in the water. It often leads to people wanting to learn to swim. It is also a safe, fun way to exercise after injury, illness or surgery and can help alleviate stress."
Classes are suitable for people suffering from arthritis as the exercises are low impact. Classes are at Padiham Pool on Thursdays from 1pm to 1.45pm and the Thompson Centre on Wednesdays from 3pm to 4pm.
