LANCASTER'S MP Hilton Dawson has organised a special meeting for local residents concerned about the possible effects of GM food.
A GM Food information sharing evening will be held at Garstang High School on March 14 at 7.30pm.
The MP said: "I know there is widespread concern about GM foods and, as a non-scientist, I'm acutely aware that this is a complex subject about which people need good information. I have obtained what seems to be some excellent documents and I'm keen to pass them on to as many constituents as possible to try and start a local discussion. It seems there could be great benefits from GM foods but there are uncertainties and there could be pitfalls."
If you would like a copy of the 19 page report on GM food obtained by Mr Dawson call him on 0171 219 4207.
