SIR, - ON reading the story Outing the louts (Citizen, Feb 25), I was amused about movement-sensitive lighting being advocated to prevent drunks urinating in doorways.

A very good idea.

However, I do find that many of these lights on ordinary homes are badly set and cause 'light pollution'.

Many of these lights are not set correctly and when they come on at night, other people in the vicinity are awakened and it is hard to find suitable 'blackout' these days.

Can we educate people to ensure that the light is directed downwards.

Also users should ensure the light is not triggered to come on until someone actually enters their drive or pathway - as opposed to picking up the movement of every passer-by on the pavement.
