A MAN in his 50s who confronted a gang of youths making a row outside his home, suffered a bruised and swollen cheekbone after being hit in the face with a bottle.
The incident happened at about 4.45pm on Friday, February 19, when the victim complained to a housing estate security guard about the youths who were drinking from cans and bottles in a walkway on the St Thomas Square estate.
When the resident and the guard told the gang to move on, one of them smashed a cider bottle in the man's face before running off.
The youth who struck the resident was white, aged about 17, and around 5ft 10ins tall with a medium build and short fair hair.
