LEIGH'S newest roller hockey club reckon they are InLine for success.
Launched last year, Leigh Street Elite InLine Hockey Club now has an U16s team - dubbed Leigh Phoenix - playing in the National Hockey InLine League at the Deeside Arena.
Two early matches proved too tough. But Phoenix top for the British League's Fair Play competition for least penalties and goalkeeper Adam Barber, 13, has received high acclaim.
Coach Chris Brotherton said: "Competing at this level after such a short time is a great achievement. And their 100 per cent effort will surely result in a top squad in the near future."
The club, oozing confidence, is already planning an expansion programme to take in an U18s squad next season.
Players aged 14+ are always welcome; call Frank Brotherton on 01942-723455 for details.
