ICE SKATING: Alan Street is back on the glory road - a full two years after his ice skating career took a shock detour.
The Blackburn Arena champion was hoping to put months of anguish behind him in the under-19s Youth Olympics in Slovakia.
For the 16-year-old figure skater is back in the running after an injury nightmare - and he admits the long lay-off with groin problems has rekindled old nerves.
"I'm very nervous about it because I missed out last year," he says.
"I came 18th last time, but my injury has set me back a long way. I'm determined to improve on my previous position, but I've not been back on the competitive ice for so long it's difficult to know what to expect."
Alan, who comes from Bradford, but now lives in Blackburn, has been coached by Joy Sutcliffe for the last three years. He has twice won both the Junior World Champion and Junior Champion of Great Britain titles, as well as Novice Champion and Primary Champion of Great Britain.
