JORDAN Heseltine capped his first team debut with a dramatic last minute equaliser to earn Colne a richly deserved point from this pulsating league clash.

Denzil Hart's men were in danger of being left empty handed after twice throwing away the lead before Heseltine popped up to curl home a rightfooted shot from inside the box in the 89th minute.

The Reds could have snatched the lead in the first minute but Steve Gavin's header from Chris Nuttall's corner flew just wide of the upright.

Walker looked dangerous on the break but the home side had much the better of the opening exchanges with wide-men Julian Dowe and Tony Lawler causing havoc down the flanks.

A Dowe free kick curled just over the bar before the Reds broke the deadlock on 36 minutes.

A poor clearance by keeper Lee Medland fell to Lee Murphy on the halfway line and Gavin just got a toe to his clever through ball to put the Reds in front.

But the lead lasted just one minute before Stuart Clay tapped in the equaliser after keeper Anthony Whitehead failed to hold a rasping drive from Robert Preidt.

The visitors looked the sharper after the break as Clay raced through the Reds rearguard but Whitehead saved at the second attempt. But some neat football in the 52nd minute saw Tony Healey accelerate past Lawler and Murphy on the left before crossing for Lee Newbold to head home from close range.

That fired up the home side and they peppered the Walker goal.

Gary Dalton and Gavin both narrowly missed the target with headers and Dowe saw a superb shot tipped over the bar by Medland.

But with nine minutes left, Lawler dragged his side level with a curling right-footer after Gavin had been dispossessed on the edge of the box.

Once again their joy was short-lived though as James Drury cancelled that out within a minute, racing through to tuck a shot under Whitehead.

In a frantic finale, Hart's men threw everything forward in an effort to fashion an equaliser and they hit the jackpot in the final minute.

Micky Halliday fed Nuttall, his pass wasn't properly cleared inside the box and the ball fell to Heseltine who bent a right-footer inside the left hand upright.
