HOW can Neil Bramwell (LET, February 25) slag off the attendance at Ewood Park against Newcastle as disappointing? 27,000 is tremendous.

When they first went into the Premier League, Rovers themselves said they would be happy with an average of 18,000.

And to say that "on a night of few counter distractions," the gate at this match was poor is crazy.

What about work, Mr Bramwell? Many people work shift patterns now. What about those working 2 to 10pm?

The facts are that Rovers were at home to Sheffield Wednesday the previous Saturday, and for a non-season ticket holder like me to have taken my nine-year-old son to both games would have cost £50.

I'm sorry, but we're not all on £10,000 a week. To the majority of the working people in this area, £50 represents a quarter or third of their wage.

So if people are putting money into the club now, Rovers have got to understand that the product should match the money they are commanding, and not the second-rate rubbish that is being served up.

No names need mentioning, but anyone who attends Rovers' matches knows that vast amounts of money have been spent on very average players, that's why they are in this position.

Since winning the championship, we've let a better team depart than the one which has been bought.

Let's all hope that Rovers can get out of this bleak position, but, Bramwell, don't slag the fans off.
