A STREAM ran red with blood after a slaughterhouse on the Whitewalls Industrial Estate, Colne, spilled waste into it twice in one day. The National Rivers Authority investigated after a member of the public said Swinden Clough was full of red dye, and found it contaminated by animal skin and fat. The slaughterhouse owners were fined £12,000 for the spillage.
