MY recent remarks (Letters, February 4) about stray cats, brought a response from both the RSPCA and Pets in Need.
I tried to ring Pets in Need and Blackburn Cats Rescue. Neither has numbers in the telephone book and the RSPCA don't know of them either.
I suggested to the RSPCA that, since Pets in Need and Blackburn Cat Rescue have people wanting cats and kittens and have a long list of cats, perhaps they could work together.
But I was told that the RSPCA does not pass on any animals to other organisations.
From what I can gather, these two organisations are small concerns, possibly run by volunteers. It was suggested that they contact the RSPCA.
This sounds rather childish to me. Is it a case of "We're not contacting you" on each side; only, animals suffer if this is the case.
Surely, these organisations can work together to the benefit of each other and, not least, the animals.
