ICE HOCKEY: Andrew Dickson hopes to help Blackburn Hawks close the curtain on their ice hockey season in style tonight (face-off 7.30pm).

The Canadian hot-shot missed Sunday's defeat at Solihull due to a facial injury, but is keen to rejoin the fray as Hawks hang on to a slim chance of finishing runner-up in the English Premier League.

To have any chance they must beat second-placed Milton Keynes tonight.

Third placed Hawks can still clinch second spot if they with BOTH their remaining games and other results go their way.

Hawks league season comes to a complete close at Swindon on Saturday night. "In theory we can do it," says player-coach Bobby Haig.

"We missed out on the title, but we can still give our supporters something to cheer about. Our home form has been excellent throughout the season and we want to go out on a high tonight."

If Dickson comes through a late check then Hawks will have close on a full-strength squad from which to make their selection.

Hawks have put together an English Division One Select team to ice at the Arena on Sunday evening in a one-off special event. More details will be announced shortly.
