SEVERAL writers (Letters, March 2) expressed indignation over the well being of wildlife being put before that of humans in noise reduction measures on stretches of the M65 motorway.
There is at least one reason for this, and that is the apathy of those who are affected by the increasing noise from the road surface.
We recently wrote to our MP Peter Pike, making it clear that it was not only the constituents of his colleague Janet Anderson who were affected by the problem of motorway noise.
In reply, Mr Pike pointed out that our complaint was the only one he had ever received since the M65 was built.
Obviously, the authorities will reach the conclusion that people don't have a problem.
