NATIONAL dance champion Sophie Towers, 11, presented her Chinese ribbon dance to an audience of millions.
The year seven pupil at Walshaw High School, Burnley, performed on the popular children's BBC TV show Blue Peter to celebrate the Chinese New Year. She is the national champion of non-European dancing in the age 10 to 13 age category, having won the London final of the dancing competition in December.
Two years ago, Sophie was one of just 26 young dancers to win through rigorous auditions to join Wayne Sleep and Joanna Lumley for a special production at The Ashcroft Theatre, Croydon, of a ballet of AA Milne's When We Were Very Young.
