BAMBER Bridge Football Club believe their football is up to scratch - now officials are working behind the scenes to bring their facilities up to Conference standard.
If Brig win the league, they won't be promoted to the Nationwide Conference because their ground doesn't conform to league rules - yet.
The Irongate outfit have applied to The Football Trust for a grant to help them rebuild one of their stands, which was wrecked by winds last autumn.
If the new stand was to be built, it would go a long way to bringing the ground up to standard.
To gain a Conference place, the club needs to have 499 covered seats and dressing rooms, treatment room and hospitality area in the same part of the ground.
A spokesman for the club said: "If the grant is successful, we will get 65 per cent of the cost.
"The remainder of the amount we will have to get ourselves.
"Hopefully, if we get this grant, work will start before the end of the season."
Extra terracing, new perimeter fences and improved floodlights would also have to be installed if Brig were to move into the Conference.
