WORK has stopped on a school building project because it hasn't got planning permission.
Now Wigan Education Committee have applied to continue with a bus turning area and parking bay at Lowton High School.
But school neighbours aren't happy with the scheme which they say invades their privacy.
And Cllr Mark Hale isn't happy because builders continued to work on the project when Planning Department officers had order them to stop.
"I will be making my feelings fully known then the Planning Committee meets.
"Although it was genuine mistake to start the work, they should have stopped when ordered," said Cllr Hale.
The school neighbour claims work was only stopped after they put pressure on the Planning Department.
"And that was only after the builders earlier ignored the Planning Department."
The turning area is part of the bigger science block project at LHS. It is needed because the block is to go on the sports hard surface which doubles as a turning area.
A council spokesman said: "Starting the work was a genuine mistake. The applicants Wigan Education Committee thought they had planning permission when they did not. They thought it was included in the wider building project.
"Now they have made a planning application which will go through the same rigorous procedure as other applications, including consultation with neighbours."
