HOW dare Coun Crossley imply that builders would knock trees down on purpose (Save trees from JCBs, March 4)!
His accusations are outrageous, if not seriously libellous!
It isn't the builders who have ruined our countryside, it's the politicians who can't make up their minds about what constitutes green belt, brown land and building land. They are the ones who have allowed all these modern housing developments to be built on green belt land.
And what about those on former rubbish tips? I'm sure there are plenty of time bombs there waiting to explode!
As for builders not respecting the environment, well, the ones I know have a lot of respect for nature. After all, they are the ones who have to suffer it day in day out.
I'd like to see Norman Crossley get his hands dirty, digging and mixing all day long - he'd soon be singing a different tune.
And as far as trusting builders, well, who would you rather trust, a politician or a builder?
