MANY older people are missing out by not claiming a state benefit called Attendance Allowance.
This can be claimed by some sick or disabled people, and you may be able to obtain it if you need help with such things as dressing, washing, bathing, or even taking medicine.
Attendance allowance can be claimed by anyone over 65, whatever their financial situation.
The national charity Counsel and Care, which has an advice agency for older people, has produced a factsheet which explains who is entitled to and how to claim this benefit. It is available free if you send me a stamped addressed envelope (31p) or by calling 0845 300 7585.
