DUNCAN Brown from Year 7 of Hodgson High School, Poulton, writes:
RECENTLY 24 students from Year 7 took part in the annual school maths challenge.
Students had to qualify for this by taking home a question sheet and filling it in during the holidays.
The three students from each form who got the highest marks were chosen to represent their form in the maths challenge. I was one of those pupils selected from my form.
The event was held to find a boy and girl to represent Hodgson in the Wyre heat. On the night I thought everybody was nervous.
The good thing was that it was a fun event in which everyone could take part, including adults and parents.
I was amazed that I finished as the best boy as I thought I would come last.
Jenny McCormack finished as the top girl. A substitute was also selected in case either of us could not attend the Wyre heat.
