THERE'S a lot going on at Blackpool FC this week.
A 1-0 home defeat at the hands of Stoke City on Saturday (March 6) and a postponed mid-week match against York City meant the Seasiders were denied the chance to climb further up the table.
In her weekly round-up of news from Bloomfield Road, managing director Gill Bridge also welcomes some new faces ...
We put in a good performance against Stoke on Saturday but unfortunately we didn't get what we deserved from it.
It was nice to see forward Kevin Barnes take the field after joining us until the end of the season.
His employers at the civil service have agreed to let him play for us on a part-time basis and he had a chance to make a dream debut with a great goal-scoring opportunity on Saturday.
But the ball just wouldn't fall for him.
New boy Andy Couzens also impressed with some nice football.
We welcomed another new face this week with the arrival of striker Simon Sturridge on a month's loan from Stoke.
He was due to make his debut at York on Tuesday night (March 9) but the players were just finishing their pre-match meal when the game was called off due to a waterlogged pitch.
Thanks again go to our 13 sponsors for helping bring Simon here by funding his wages.
Fans can welcome him for his home debut on Saturday (March 13) when we entertain Wrexham.
We are again running our Quid a Kid scheme to give as many fans as possible the opportunity to come and watch a match at Bloomfield Road.
Hope to see you all there.
