RADIO 1 breakfast babe Zoe Ball brought a laugh to East Lancashire today.
The chuckling chick sent crew members Zoe A and Piers to get their hands dirty at a Nelson garage - all in aid of Comic Relief.
The duo, who normally spend their mornings helping Zoe B broadcast to millions, swapped compact discs for brake discs as they helped staff at Hillendale LandRover dealership, Lomeshaye Industrial Estate, Nelson.
The garage bid £6,000, beating off competition from Soho nightclub king Peter Stringfellow, for the chance to host the breakfast show personalities for Red Nose Day.
There were live link-ups between Hillendale and the London studio during today's breakfast show as Zoe and Piers explained how they were getting on. Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson gave them some tips on sales techniques.
Hillendale director and dealer principal Mike Butt explained: "Our sales director Bradley Maybin was on his way to work yesterday morning listening to the breakfast show.
"They were asking for bids towards Comic Relief for Zoe A and Piers to come to your workplace and help out for the day and so he decided to put in a bid. At the end they managed to get us up to £6,000.
"We planned to get our money's-worth out of them. We intended to get them washing cars and perhaps change a wheel or two."
