PUPILS from an Accrington school are fast becoming bookworms thanks to the efforts of local storytellers.
Teachers at St Anne's and St Joseph's RC Primary School have invited a wide variety of people to come into the school and relate their favourite poem or story to pupils as part of national year of reading events.
Hyndburn MP Greg Pope and council leader George Slynn have been among the visitors while parents and governors have also taken part.
School languages co-ordinator Marie Roberts said: "It has been a very worthwhile exercise which has been enjoyed by both the children and the people who have come in to read stories."
