A RISING tide of racial violence in the North West was blamed on an increase in fascist activity in the region.
Shadow home secretary Tony Blair said Greater Manchester was the league leader for racial incidents with 577 reported, while in Lancashire, 215 racial attacks were reported, varying from taunting to vicious physical assaults.
