REGARDING the comments in Soap Box (LET, March 11), about drug abuse, we seem to have come quite a long way since the 1930s.
Now, youngsters take drugs to get a buzz, whereas in my youth these were not necessary.
In my teenage years, with the aid of a pair of bicycle wheels, a frame and a few bits and pieces, we would assemble our own form of transport and make trips far and wide at weekends and on holidays. This was our 'buzz.'
We cannot turn the clock back, but the natural remedies are still out there for everyone to use.
