I READ with interest your 'Grime Watch' report (LET, March 4) of the petition organised by residents of Ribblesdale Place, Blackburn, regarding unsightly tipping on land adjacent to their homes.
It was stated that they had actually seen tipping of items such as three-piece suites, washing machines, etc - quite bulky items which must have had to be transported there.
Why don't these residents get out from behind their aspidistras and either confront the tippers or at least take details of the vehicles used?
And the great mystery - where has the famous Sam Spence gone? No comments from him about this, despite living right there.
Has the original Neighbourhood Watch gone undercover to try and help nail the perpetrators? This would be a more positive action for all concerned instead of taking up the pen and having nice pictures taken.
Don't watch - act!
