A MAJOR musical event will take place in Burnley on Sunday with a performance of Verdi's Requiem Mass by Burnley Municipal Choir and Nelson and Colne College Choir, accompanied by Burnley Municipal Orchestra.
Four top soloists will add to the combined choirs.
Taking part will be Burnley baritone Keith Latham, mezzo soprano Kathleen Wilkinson, also from Burnley, Jayne Carpenter, who has often joined the Burnley choir, and Jeffrey Lawton, a newcomer to the choir but not to the area.
He sang at Colne Municipal Hall on Sunday and has built a major singing career at many festivals, including the Proms in London.
Ticket can be obtained at the box office of Burnley Mechanics, priced £6.50 on the day or £6 before the day. Tickets for junior schoolchildren are just £1.
The concert starts at 7.30pm and will be conducted by Peter Stallworthy.
