Mrs Lesley Harvey is trying to trace her father's sister, Mary Jane Doris Guest (always called Doris) any relatives still around or anyone who knew the family.
She was born on May 6, 1920 at St Mary's Hospital, Ancoats to Doris Webb and Herbert Richard Guest. Her mother died a week later and was buried at Prestwich Church on May 17.
The baby was adopted by her uncle Sam Jones and baptised at St George's, Simister Lane, Prestwich on May 30. Godparents were Ellis Partington, Annie Louisa Jones and Lily Jones.
Doris's last known address was 278 Simister Lane, where she lived as a child and as a married woman just after the war. Her husband was called Moon or Noon and they had children Barbara and Alan.
Her brother, Mrs Harvey's father, is now 73 and would like to contact his sister if still alive.
They last met in 1945, and she would now be nearly 80. She has never met her other two brothers, born of her father's second marriage. He died in in 1968.
Mrs Harvey can be telephoned on 0121 378 552 (work) or 0121 605 6536 (home). Or write to her at 307 Witton Lodge Road, Erdington, Birmingham B23 5LY.
