I READ with some amusement councillor Tony Wade's remarks that Labour are attempting to scaremonger the local electorate into not voting MBI at the forthcoming local elections by using letters to the press. Excuse me if I'm being naive but isn't it the objective of all political organisations to persuade people to vote for them rather than their opponents? Does he propose that Labour should be telling people to vote MBI? Surely not. Considering that the MBIs constantly have letters in the local papers doing just what he accuses Labour of doing then his comments are somewhat hypocritical. On the face of it his comments would appear to be totally pointless unless, of course, it is the MBIs who are running scared and since the elections have yet to be officially called, does he have some ulterior motive behind his comments?
