IT has been brought to my attention that people who cannot distinguish literary style think letters in the Citizen signed by a Mr Jackson of Hest Bank are from me: M R Jackson of Peacock Lane, Hest Bank.
This does not worry me and it is all a bit sad. If acquaintances think I would ever urge people to vote Tory they will remain just that; acquaintances. While writing I will mention that I noted with interest Cllr Bush's letter (Citizen: 11 March ) that the reason for buying the town hall's new computer was not because the old one was inadequate.
When I buy a new car it is either because the old one is inadequate or because I want to swank a bit.
I must assume, therefore, the the council bought its new computer just to swank. What a shocking thing to do with our council taxes.
Actually, although officers find apologies difficult, I credit them with more sense. Perhaps Cllr Bush should leave press letters to experts like Cllrs Henig and Barker - after all, at council meetings, they do seem to run everything on the council.
M R Jackson,
Peacock Lane,
Hest bank.
