FIFTY years of marriage and still smiling!
This happy couple were treated to a surprise party to celebrate their golden wedding anniversary.
Ken and Ada Pooley, who now live in Longridge, turned up at their local British Legion Club to find all their old friends and family waiting for them.
And for Ada who worked in the X-ray department of Sharoe Green Hospital in Fulwood until she retired, that meant meeting up with some former colleagues she had not seen for 29 years.
Ken who worked as a builder and later a long distance lorry driver, was overcome by the occasion. He said: "It's wonderful to see everyone again."
Ada agreed, and after 50 years of wedded bliss, she said: "If I had my time again, I'd do it all the same."
The couple who grew up and raised their family in Preston, have four children, 15 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
