THEY may not have had the biggest Comic Relief event, but children at Old Stone House Nursery certainly had the biggest red nose!
Children at the School Lane nursery, in Leyland, helped create a huge patchwork nose for the front of their building - to prepare visitors for the Comic Relief capers going on inside. The nose - which measured around 5ft in radius - consisted of patches of red material sewn together.
Meanwhile, the youngsters at Wonderland Kindergarten, in Liege Road, Leyland, were also busy raising cash for Comic Relief.
Staff and pupils donned their nightwear for a sponsored pyjama party.
In a more energetic bid to raise cash, South Ribble Council staff were pulling out all the stops at the Planet Pulse Fitness Suite, in Leyland Leisure Centre.
The borough's team of rowers competed against other amateur athletes in a 2,000-metre challenge for the British record.
Sponsorship money will go to the Comic Relief fund.
One of the more unusual Red Nose events was at Preston's House of Hair, where manager Neil Hull launched a 12-hour hair-cutting marathon to raise money for Comic Relief.
Dozens of people offered to go for the chop - some of whom were already half-cut from the pub! - during the marathon session, which ran through Friday evening.
Schoolchildren from Broughton High School, in Woodplumpton Lane, had a tasty treat for Comic Relief with a charity doughnut sale during their break time.
The nationwide Comic Relief total is now over £17 million.
