ENFIELD have signed Victorian bowler Dave Saker as replacement pro for Shane Lee.
The Lancashire League club were forced to cancel Lee's contract because of his predicted involvement in the Australia World Cup squad.
So the club turned to the quickie, a target two years ago when Lee was the eventual choice after Saker pulled out through business commitments.
Saker is 32 and has taken 148 first class wickets in 39 matches for Victoria in the Sheffield Shield, with a personal best of 7-32 at an average of 28.56.
His economy rate in first class games is 2.73 with a strike rate of 62.6. In one-day games Saker has a strike rate of 49.6 at 3.72 runs per over.
He is a lower order batsman with a highest score of 66 not out.
Enfield president John Hargreaves said: "He plays in the same team as our former pro Damien Fleming and Dave was recommended by him."
