NEWTON Hall Amateur Swimming Club came away with twelve first places at the recent North Lancashire championships.
Teams and individuals from across the region competed in this fast and furious gala.
Pride of place went to Lisa How, Newton Hall's British Schoolgirl International, who won seven events, six of them with national qualifying times along with four new records on the way.
She won the 200 metre freestyle, breaststroke and individual medley, 800 metres freestyle, 100 metres butterfly and 50 metres freestyle and breaststroke, all in the 16 years and over age group.
Lisa also came third in the 100 metres backstroke.
Other winners were Mark McCartney in the 100 metres freestyle and breaststroke for the 15 years boys, Leanne Howe in the 100 and 200 metre freestyle events for the 14 years girls and Andrew Hodgson won the 100 metres backstroke for the 12 years boys.
More than 950 entrants competed at the gala over two days at the impressive Salt Ayre complex in Lancaster with massive support from the public.
