I WAS sorry to read (Letters, March 11) that Mrs I Holden was upset by what she considered was the uncaring attitude of the Benefits Agency staff in Blackburn.
I can only say that when my husband died recently, I felt I received only help and kindness from them.
They are dealing with these situations every week and it could be very easy to get the wrong impression on what is said, especially over the phone.
My sympathies go to Mrs Holden at her sad loss.
M WHITTAKER (Mrs), Bolton Road, Ewood, Blackburn.
