Upper Eden 49 Carnforth 5 FOLLOWING two successive league victories, Carnforth travelled to Kirkby Stephen on Saturday in high hopes of recording a further two league points.
But they were brought straight back down to earth with this hammering.
After losing the toss Carnforth were forced to play with the wind in the first half and they knew they had to score points and obtain a lead for the second 40 minutes. But, due to over-elaborate fancy play, Carnforth couldn't penetrate and ended up 25 points down.
Eden killed the game after the restart with an early try and after that it was just a question of playing out the time. Carnforth take a break this Saturday due to the Sportsman's Dinner but the following week sees them take on league leaders Moresby in their final home game of the season.
