ASTLEY Youth Band has scooped another selection of festival trophies.
The band, which is now booking a Millennium European Tour of Holland, Belgium and Germany, collected six more pieces of silver for their display cabinet at Ramsbottom.
The twenty young musicians aged between seven and 17 won the Ensemble competition to lift the Triple R Trophy.
The group was made up of Emily Cook, Michael Clegg, Adam Smith and Kirsten Broadhurst (cornets), Alastair Burrows (trombone), Louise Harrison and Simon Minshall (euphonium) and Michael Evans (tuba).
They also netted The Astley Band Trophy for nines and under, The Trinity Trophy (11 and under), The B and C Gregory Trophy (aged 12-13), The M Garner Trophy (aged 14-15), and The Roger Greenlees Trophy (aged 16-17).
Results were: Astley Band Trophy: 1 Emily Cook, aged nine, cornet; 2 Simon MInshall, aged seven, euphonium.
Trinity Trophy: 1 Alastair Burrows, aged 11, trombone; 2 Scott Broadhurst, aged 11, cornet; 3 Ernest Collier, aged 11, euphonium.
The B and C Gregory Trophy: 1 Fiona Snaith, aged 13, euphonium; 2 Jonathan Smith, aged 12, cornet, 3 Jonathan Clegg, aged 12, cornet.
M Garner Trophy: 1 Michael Evans, aged 14, tuba.
Roger Greenless Trophy: 1 Hannah Boardman, aged 17, tenor horn; 2 Laura Snaith, aged 16, tuba; 3 Nicholas Cooper, aged 17, tenor horn.
Open class: 2 Andrew Noone, aged 16, tuba.
