PNE'S Under16 girls reached the final of the Lancashire Cup after overcoming a very stubborn Man City side 4-2 in a tense match at Samlesbury
The home side struggled early on and it was City who took the lead after 10 minutes from a corner.
PNE fought back to equalise when Jo Ball converted from a good cross by Gemma Turner. The visitors restored their lead after 25 minutes. Back came PNE again and they equalised for a second time when Nat Brewer headed home a Katie Anderton corner. They made it 3-2 on the stroke of half-time when Katie Eastwood scored from close range.
In the second half City dominated for long periods but Preston booked their place in the final when Lucy Ireland broke free to fire a shot past the City keeper.
Preston now play Everton or Stalybridge in the final in April.
