MUSICAL mayhem is planned for the Fylde this May Bank Holiday.
The Station Tavern in Lytham is to host an all-day live band extravaganza, highlighting plans to turn the public house into a regular music venue.
Local bands already lined up to perform in Station Square on May 2 include St Annes-based Thee Phantom Creeps, with lead vocalist Richard King as the instigator of the entertaining affair.
He told the Citizen: "We really need to liven up Lytham and hopefully this will be a day for the whole family.
"Young children just don't get to see live bands these days and it's time they saw some real rock and roll."
Landlords Derek and Janice Pritcher were keen to take Richard's suggestion on board as part of their plans to boost live music in the area.
Derek added: "Obviously there are a lot of things to consider but hopefully everything will go ahead as planned and it's a bonus to organise something the children can be involved in.
"We currently run a spot every Saturday night for local talent as we are always pleased to encourage live music, but an all-day event would be great."
The rest of the eclectic bill comprises cheeky rockabillies Riverside Trio, Curly's Heroes, Sharkfin Plectrum and Nameless, from Chorley, to date.
Fans can catch a preview of voodoo punksters Thee Phantom Creeps at the Station Tavern on April 10, while this Saturday evening (March 20) the pub plays host to Nick Unlimited, and March 27 offers popular young group Guest.
