TALENTED young musician Sam Neild has hit a high note after being chosen to play at today's England v France rugby match.

Sam, 16, of Billinge Avenue, Blackburn, will play the French horn with other musicians in the marching band from Christ's Hospital School, at the RFU Twickenham Five Nations Championship.

Sam is a pupil at Christ's Hospital, a full boarding school in West Sussex.

He has played the French horn for six years and has achieved Grade 7.

The Marching Band of 85 boys and girls wear the school's distinctive Tudor style uniform of ankle length top blue coat and yellow socks.

It will play rousing music to an audience of more than 70,000 including "Land of Hope and Glory", "Jerusalem" and the French and British National Anthems.

Sam has performed in the Marching Band at the Tower of London, leading the Lord Mayor's Show and contributed to a forthcoming CD of the Band.

He has also played in the orchestra at a school concert held in Purcell Room, South Bank.
