LANCASHIRE Lynx will be looking to put Wednesday's disappointing 24-12 defeat at Whitehaven behind them when at Spotland against Rochdale Hornets.
Lynx were their own worst enemies conceding a string of penalties throughout the game and captain Dave Murray was sin binned for the third consecutive game.
Steve Hampson's men did get themselves back in the game in the last quarter, but it was too little too late. The coach will also be counting the cost of defeat with injuries to Darren Abram, Ian Gildart and Simon Smith which threaten to keep them out of the Rochdale game.
Recent signing John Welsh made his debut for Lynx coming on as a substitute and hopefully hooker Andy Bennett will have completed his move from Warrington in time to be included in the squad.
This game could also be the last for half back Phil Jones as it looks certain that he will join Wigan in a big money deal.
Last weekend Rochdale put up a dismal show in a 40-22 home defeat to Leigh and they now find themselves at the bottom of the league.
Player-coach Deryck Fox signed numerous players in pre-season and they were tipped to be one of the league's front-runners but so far they have one league victory from four outings.
This week they have signed ex-Lynx scrum half Chris Kelly and the experienced ex-Wigan and Oldham player Ian Sharrett. Lynx will have to be wary of ex-Leeds hooker Mick Shaw and Australian full back Peter Fitzgerald who caused Lynx plenty of problems when he was at York.
Lynx will select from: Murray, David Jones, O'Loughlin, Abram, Parsley, Phil Jones, Flanagan, Norton, Hodgkinson, Prest, Gee, Gildart, Solomon, White, Smith, Welsh, Walsh, Bennett, Guest.
