BREWERS in East Lancashire studied a report which could bring massive changes to the industry.
The damning report by the Monopolies and Mergers Commission found that the price of beer was too high because of the stranglehold of the "big six" on Britain's pubs. And it suggested that the six brewers would have to sell about 22,000 pubs - more than a quarter of the total.
