I WAS lucky enough to see that great bass singer, Paul Robeson, in concert at King George's Hall, Blackburn, on two occasions, some time around the late 1950s to late 1960s.
In the first concert, he sang 'Ode To Joy' from Beethoven's Choral Symphony, and, again, at my request at his second performance a few years later.
I have tried very hard, without success, to find a recording of him singing this.
As a last resort, I am hoping that maybe someone in Blackburn took a recording at one of these concerts.
If anyone did and they could kindly send me a copy, I would gladly pay any expenses incurred.
