ADRIAN Shurmer (Letters, March 11) should not be too worried about Hyndburn Council's overloaded lorry.
He should pay more attention to the local press, where council leader George Slynn, an expert in these matters, is quoted as saying that there was no evidence that the vehicle was a danger to the public. I would suggest the evidence of such danger was on the back of the lorry!
This from the man who has been banging on about road safety, humps, dangerous drivers, etc.
Am I expecting too much from a politicians? - why can't they just hold their hands up and say: "It's a fair cop, guv?"
