WHO wants to be a millionaire? Who wants the VIP treatment - staying in a high-class London hotel with a swimming pool?

Not me. Many people no doubt, would jump at the chance. Yet, I have turned it down. The offer was made for the 10th Sharron Davies' 'Swim for Life' appeal because I have entered about five of her challenges over the few years I have been swimming.

Really, I think it was my age that led to the invitation. But though I was thrilled to be asked and sensed a note of disappointment when I said No, I am quite happy just to do the things I do - to swim my 2,000 lengths and be lucky enough to raise £2,000 for Imperial Cancer Research for the year 2000.

I still have a long way to go as my total to date is £50. So if anyone would like to help, I'd be most grateful.
