WORKERS at an aerospace firm are celebrating a ton-up. Hurel-Dubois, of Burnley, has just shipped out the 100th thrust reverser - used as part of an aircraft's braking system - as part of a major contract with Rolls-Royce.

The thrust reversers are used on Trent engines which power Airbus A330 commercial aircraft. A special hand-over ceremony in front of more than 100 guests was held at the Bancroft Road site to mark the milestone.

"Our strong partnership with Rolls-Royce stretches back more than 30 years," said managing director Tom Hughes.

"During this time we have delivered more than 1,800 thrust reversers in addition to these 100. We are delighted to have reached this very important milestone."
