MICHELLE Barry and mum Elaine came up with winning tips to help with exams and to earn a great prize in our NIE competition.
We published two sets of handy hints to help parents and children through exam stress and asked readers to think up three more ideas on the theme. Elaine and her 12-year-old daughter, a pupil at Edge End High School, did just that, to win a prize of super software from Knowledge Adventurer.
The software set of Adi English and Maths for year 8 and year 9, plus Smart Start French, worth in total around £80, was handed over to the delighted pair.
Elaine said: "This will be a great help to Michelle in her studies, and should be fun to use on our own computer."
The Barry family's tips for revision are:
Give yourself plenty of time to revise before the exam, at least six weeks and not at the last minute.
Learn your subject step by step and not all at once. This way your brain will digest more.
A good idea would be to invest in some of the good revision books and software which can be found in most good shops. They contain good tips and advice on what examiners are looking for.
